Greetings AGA Members & Friends!!!

Spring is in the air! Can you feel it? Spring is the season of renewal! The sun is brighter, the birds are chirping louder and the dead brown winter grass is coming alive again! With all the wonderful changes happening around us, this is the perfect time to take a moment to renew your relationship with AGA and your New Orleans Chapter! Maybe you missed a few meetings because work deadlines had you snowed under or you could not quite make the audio conferences because of prior commitments. Please know that we understand, but we miss you! Now is the time to get back in touch with AGA and reacquaint yourself with all that your chapter has to offer! Attend a dinner meeting and network with your fellow members! Participate in a chapter or national community service project with your fellow chapter members or other AGA members from across the country! Consider volunteering for a chapter executive committee assignment! Get involved! Only a few chapter events remain before we end the chapter year on June 30th, so renew your relationship with AGA today! Remember, we are here for you and want you to make the most of your valuable membership!

THANK YOU to everyone who attended our joint meeting with the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) at Five Happiness Restaurant on March 21st! Our speaker was Mr. Raphael Goyeneche of the Metropolitan Crime Commission. His presentation was outstanding and enlightening!

If you missed our March meeting, I hope you can make our April 25th meeting at Middendorf’s Restaurant in Akers, LA (just off I-55). This will be a joint dinner meeting with the AGA Baton Rouge Chapter. Our speaker, Ms. Evelyn Brown, CGFM-Retired, AGA National President, will discuss “Ethics”. The 7th Annual AGA National Community Service Project with Habitat for Humanity will take place April 30-May 3! Jeff Hart, Past National President, will lead our fellow AGA members from around the nation to New Orleans to worksites in LaPlace and New Orleans. Please contact me (aga.neworleans.president@gmail.com) if you would like to volunteer.

The Chapter Crawfish Party/Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, LA. Stay tuned for further details.
